Will Rack-Ware accessories fit every boltless shelving rack?

Accepted Answer

Rack-Ware products are designed to be compatible with most boltless steel shelving that have either wedge style, keyhole style, or rectangular style hole openings that are 1.5" or 3" on center, but no accessory should be assumed to fit every rack.If you are uncertain, contact us with photographs and measurements of your rack, and we will make a reasonable effort to help determine compatibility and add to our growing list of known compatible brands.

How do I determine whether a product will fit my rack?

Start by confirming that your rack is made from steel and uses a compatible boltless upright design. Then compare the following details with the information provided on the product page:The rack’s front-to-back depthThe size and shape of the upright openingsThe distance between openings

How do I measure my rack depth?

Accepted Answer

Measure from the outside face of the front upright to the outside face of the rear upright along the side of the rack. Take the measurement near the area where the accessory will be installed.It is also helpful to measure the actual shelf or deck depth and photograph the front and rear upright posts. Racks advertised as 12, 18 or 24 inches deep may measure slightly more or less than their stated nominal size.The current Rack-Ware magnetic pegboard panels are designed primarily for compatible 24-inch nominal-depth racks. The 12-by-24-inch panels may also be rotated for use on certain compatible 12-inch nominal-depth racks. Review the product description before ordering.

Do magnetic Rack-Ware products work with aluminum or plastic shelving?

Accepted Answer

No. Magnetic attachment requires a compatible steel surface. Magnets will not attach properly to aluminum, plastic or other nonmagnetic materials.Some Rack-Ware products also use hanging brackets, snap-in components or mechanical fasteners, but every attachment component described for the product must be properly engaged. Do not use a magnetic product on a rack where the magnets cannot make secure contact unless the product description specifically provides an approved alternative attachment method.

Are installation tools required?

Many Rack-Ware accessories are designed for tool-free installation and do not require drilling or permanent modification of the shelving rack. This includes many of our magnetic, hanging and snap-in accessories.Other products may require minor assembly or basic hand tools. The installation method and any required tools are identified on the individual product page and in the instructions supplied with the product.Always make sure every bracket, connector, magnet or fastener is fully engaged before adding stored items.

Can Rack-Ware accessories be removed or repositioned?

Many Rack-Ware products are designed to be removable and repositionable. Magnetic panels, hanging accessories and certain snap-in organizers can generally be removed without drilling or permanently altering the shelving rack.The removal method varies by product. Always unload the accessory before removing or repositioning it, and follow the supplied instructions. Do not pull, twist or force an accessory in a manner that could damage the accessory or shelving upright.

What should I do if a Rack-Ware accessory does not fit my rack?

Accepted Answer

Stop before installing, modifying or forcing the product into place. Contact us with your order number, photographs of the rack and product, and the relevant rack measurements. We may be able to identify a compatibility or installation issue.Most unused and uninstalled products may be returned within 14 days after delivery when they remain complete and in resalable condition. Customers are generally responsible for return shipping when a return results from an ordering error or incompatibility with their shelving rack.Products that have been installed, modified, damaged or returned with missing components may not qualify for a full refund.

How do I request a return or replacement?

Email rackwareusa@gmail.com with your name, order number and the reason for the request. If the item is damaged, defective, incomplete or incorrect, include clear photographs of the product, packaging and shipping label.Please contact us within seven days after delivery for damaged, defective, missing or incorrect items. Keep the product and its packaging until we provide instructions.For standard returns, contact us within 14 days after delivery. Do not ship a product back until Rack-Ware has provided return authorization and instructions. Depending on the circumstances, we may provide replacement components, replace the product, authorize a return or issue an appropriate refund.
